hey all! New to the forum and great info!
i purchased my 4runner back in 2005.

a quick newbie question, I recently installed HIDs and now my rear windshield wiper does not work and the miles per gallon reader in the front dash is not reading correctly. does anyone know what went wrong?
how do i reset the computer?

Welcome aboard! There should be a button that says "Reset". Push that button until it says 0.

Try "cycling" your rear window completely down and completely up, and then try the wiper.

If you disconnected the battery, you'll need to normalize the windows and moonroof (if you have it) to restore the auto up/down, open/close for the moonroof, and the rear wiper and defogger. For the windows, fully open them and hold down the button for a few seconds. Then fully close the window and hold the switch up for a few seconds. Do the same for the moonroof for slide and tilt, if you have it. Now test the one-touch auto open/close functionality.

For the trip computer, you can just reset it. For the range reading, it would be best to reset them when you fill up. The range reading could be off for a tank or two, it'll get higher or closer to the expected range if refill when tank is less than 1/4 tank. The concensus on the MPG reading is about 10% optimistic for most members, myself included.
