Hey guys, I am new to the forum but not new to the 4Runner. I recently purchased my 2nd 4Runner: a 2002 Sport Edition 2WD.
Here is how she looked when I brought her home:

I've been searching for ideas on what kind of practical mods there are for 2wd T4Rs, though I must admit I feel like my hands are tied a little! A part of me still wishes I held out a little longer to find a 4x4 for a good price. Any ideas?

love those Toyota wheels you put back on. good choice.

yeah being in Sacatomato is close to Tahoe for some good playing. but there have been some guys with 2wd going some places I am surprised.

I would have waited, but that is cause I live in Montana and we get a little more weather than central cali. I was stationed at McClellan when it was an Airforce base way back when.

Looks great man! Your rig, being what it is...(sweet), I would just pimp it out!??!

That being said, you could lift it anyway, and build it up like a 4X4....Skydivingdudex (something like that), has a 2wd and he lifted it and stuff, it looks great!

If I were you.....I would look at maybe changing out the cd player for a nice double din, touch screen unit, maybe do some HID retrofits, LED's in the back, maybe even add some chrome somewhere??? I don't know....just thinking out loud???

Anyway, she looks great, enjoy her, and remember whatever you do to mod her, as long as you like it....that's all that counts man!

WOW, great looking rig! I'm partial though, it looks like mine but you've got a sport hood which makes me jealous.

You really can do just about everything to a 2wd that you can do to a 4wd. You just will be limited in your off road capabilities. If you like the look of a lifted Runner, lift yours! If you like LED's or HID's, do it!

The Tundra/Sequoia wheels are a good addition, and yours look right at home on your Runner. Good luck on your journey. Hang out here much, and you'll be modding away for sure.

I would have held out for a 4WD too, at least you got rid of those wheels that came with the truck - they looked horrible! New wheels look much better.

Thanks for the responses guys! Yeah I have already thrown in some 5000K HIDs and am planning on LED tails but we all know those are a little more pricey. A lift would be cool as well.
Regarding the wheels: Those hideous dubs were almost a dealbreaker for me! But I figured I could actually find someone with a Sequoia or Tundra to trade me for the wheels I really wanted - that was a lot harder to do than I thought but I did it!
