Just purchased my first 4runner! excited to start modding it! Its a 1992 4runner with 167k miles.. 3.SLOW engine.

Just one question, what would you guys do for a tune up? as of now im getting 4 mpg... (driving like a granny) :wow2:

That's an older engine than I'm used to but I'd start with plugs wires fuel filter air filter coolant.

I'm sure someone that know that motor more will give you some ideas.

Welcome to the forum, milkshake! Uhh, that mileage is BEYOND bad--you've got something wrong with that engine, friend. Yes, the 3.0 is notorious for doing poorly, but not single-digits. If that is simple tune-up parts, then they must be so bad as to be nearly disabled. You should be seeing closer to 12-15 in town, and high teens to maybe squeeking into the twenties on straight highway driving. Best of luck!

Im from Klamath Falls, and the mpg was a miss calc... :lmao:
