Since my little sports car got totaled by a kid on the streets a while back. I have been looking at a 4runners and doing a whole lot of research because of how much the few people I know love them, and have come to the conclusion I would like a v8.(I still have a 2000 Dodge Dakota v8 and love it, but its facing the end unfortunately) I don't want to make the mistake of getting a 2wd rather than a 4wd, but in my area(100 miles) v8 4wd/AWD apparently do not exist. I do a decent bit of trails, probably not nothing to steep atleast nothing my dakota couldnt handle, however I do not want to be limited on opportunities. I would like to do something along the lines of a cross country build. I am just looking for opinions from some more people that are experienced with 4runners.. any help will be greatly appreciated!!

the consensus i think youll find is to go 06-09 if possible, most people prefer the updated body style and projector headlights, and if you want the v8, hold out and buy the one you want, if you get 2wd or a v6 when you know you want the v8 with awd, you'll kick yourself
