New lift install question?? (Rubber coil isolater)

I just installed my lift this past weekend and have a question about the driver side rubber coil isolator. After we installed both front sets ups we realized the driver side rubber isolater is not lined up with the studs. The indentions in the rubber for the heads of the studs are not lined up, it's in the center instead as the picture shows. I was too lazy after install to pull driver side apart to just move the rubber isolater.

I don't think this would be too big of an issue but wanted to get everyone's opinion????

Haha yeah it did when I first saw it, but then I decided if it isn't a bad thing then I'm not going to dissasimble it just to rotate it an inch or so.

Same thing happened to me. I used the "no compressor method" and was able to push the LCA down enough to rotate that part. If you search you'll find full details on that method but it was only a matter of unbolting the LCA by the ball joint and maybe undoing one of the sway bar end links to be able to do this.

Sooner or later in time, the coil end will cut through that part, more than likely.
Just going off of the position in you picture.
I have 885 springs and the cut through the isolator from the coil end also, when sitting correctly.

So you had yours oriented the correct way and they still eventually cut through? Is that what you are meaning?

I can second this as my passenger side has torn through and the drivers side is almost there. No unusual noises though so I'm not too worried about it.

Correct, I did. New isolators installed with 885s, "0" setting. 3+ yrs.
Both sides cut through.

You see where your coil is positioned on your isolator at the edge of the 2 layers, I presume they will cut through sooner as in due time as they squish/settle even more.

These are mine when removed. The more torn one was the one i couldn't see due to coil end was on the inside of housing. Mine compressed to flat on the coil end in 3 yrs.

I can't understand why spring manufacturers don't take the extra step to level off the top and completely eliminate this problem. Like this:

Thanks for the info and pictures. I will probably re-adjust them if I decide to replace my UCA's in a few months.

Eventually the stud heads will make their own grooves. The question is when that happens will it be clean or will it split the isolator...

I think you are probably OK, but man that would bother me.

Did you have any issues with them being like that? Noises, etc.

Not that I could tell. just changed them as I could see it was damaged from one side and didn't want to find out by running them like that.
