My truck: 2007 SR5 4WD V6
So after doing a ton of research on the forum I decided to take the plunge on the FJ springs all around combined with the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks in the front and non adjustable 5100's in the rear. I added spidertrax all around as well for a cleaner look.
To finish the look I upgraded from the stock tire size (265-65/R17 Bridgestone Dueler HT) to some nicer Cooper Discover AT3 in a size 265-70/R17. I had the lift put on 2 days before the tires and it rode like a champ, no issues whatsoever and I was really happy. Today after the tires went on I was backing out of a parking lot at very low speed and with a slight turn of the wheel I heard what sounded like rubbing from the front.
I wasn't sure and as I backed out more the sound went away. A few minutes later I was pulling out of the store and when backing up out of that parking lot the exact same noise showed up and lasted until I straightened the wheel entirely.
I did a visual inspection of the tires while in park and I couldn't see any rub marks and the wheel wells look to have plenty of clearance with the new front suspension. It also doesn't sound like a bad power steering pump, it isn't a whine or the noise you get when your steering wheel is at full lock. It also doesn't happen when moving forward, only reverse.
I'm completely stumped, any ideas?
