Yeah, that’s another reason why i prefer the Expedition XLT FX4 with the 18” rims. But unfortunately, those come with shitty headlights and basic sound system.

You can always grab a set of F150 LED headlights that are plug and play from theretrofitsource. Saw a video of them on instagram the other day, look cool.
Sound system, millions of options there, just don't get it installed at Bestbuy/circuit city.

Yeah, been looking at the new RAM too. Well, that thing is HUGE too.

For me, i trust Ford over GM...and definitely over RAM/Jeep/Chrysler. Look at the frame issue on the new Rubicon! That alone has scared me away from RAM.

I’m not brand loyal to any one brand and personal experience can mold those opinions greatly… We have an F150, Silverado, and 2 4Runners…

We have had more problems with our F150 FX4 4WD system than on any other truck. Last time we needed it, it failed and would not engage… the fix at the dealer was even more bizarre. It’s not the only thing we have had issues with, I can’t even shift out of park without lifting the center console and pushing the manual release. Lots of stupid small problems that really take away from being pleased with it.

I have a more confidence in my GM truck than my Ford truck… that said, after owning a Toyota, it takes the cake in the confidence and reliability department. My highest mileage truck with 200k+ just so happens to be the one I trust the most.

The FX4 F150 is a 2008, purchased new and my Silverado is a 2004 purchased used.

The only thing I can see coming with my Chevy is the trans 1st to 2nd shift is starting to get a little sloppy which may require some attention in years to come, but the previous owner had this truck on camp trailer and boat tow duty for the first 60k miles of its life between CA and AZ so I am considering this just part of the wear and tear.

Chevy wasn't immune to all the common stuff that goes out, still required attention for things like window regular or water pump, but nothing catastrophic like my 4WD not working.

All in all, I consider the playing field to be pretty level, I like and dislike things from both brands. I think a lot of it just comes down to luck of the draw with quality.
