New look for my '06 V8 Sport, now on 22's

this is the 3rd set of wheels i have put on this suv, here is a pic of what it used to look like:

20" Chrome A.R. RT-S


I wanted to have a more stealth look while keeping it showy, so I changed to black 22" A.R. Fuel's on Toyo Proxes.

sorry about all the night photos, i just put them on and had to hack some of the fender apart to make for some tire clearance (decided to go with the larger 285/45/22 tires instead of 40's since the roads are sort of crappy where i live).

as you can tell from my show car, I am big fan of white rides on black wheels. so this fits the bill!

You know, I really like that look. I am not normally a fan of big wheels on our 4runners, but with those big tires too, it looks pretty cool. nice!

What were the older wheels (make, size)? They looked sharp.

old wheels were 20x9.5 american racing chrome RT-S, they also can come in black. they are a sharp looking wheel and they did look really good on the 4runner.

my show vehicle is sponsored by cooper tires, i had a set of coopers on my old wheels but unfortunetly i couldnt get coopers for the second set of rims in 2 years for my suv.

i ran 285/50/20, and yes they are long gone...

Personally, I think I'd prefer the 20s, but in black. The 22s are too big for my tastes, but what do I know.

both sets of wheels actually look pretty good, though the 20s gave it more of a high performance feel though,

When you ran the 285/50/20 didnt u have any rubbing did u have to trim for them??? Also what were the offset of the wheels???? Thanks alot for the help

that size tire is almost the exact same diameter as the stock wheel/tire combo. no trimming or anything involved. no rubbing. its the perfect tire size for an upgrade if you want it very close to OE spec. i forget the offset of those wheels.

Oh thanks because i thought 265/50/20 was the same height as the stock 265/65/17 but i thought yours looked taller and better???
