How do you like that i7-2600k?

Newegg.com makes it sound pretty badass.


I can't justify upgrading yet though, my i7-920 is still blazing OC'd to 3.6 GHZ.

I forgot that I also have i7-720 and it`s slower a bit not a whole lot though, maybe 10-15% on some tests then 2600K2600K freaking fast, DVD fab takes 7 minutes to recode single layer blueray disk to 1080h264 file I can watch on my tablet. hackintosh works great too,I just prefer win7 for customization ability.I woudn`t upgrade -7-920 to I7-2600K, its still bad azz machine, I just work with computers for almost 30 yeARS AND IT WAS AS CHEAP AS IT CAN BE WHEN YOU DO IT AT WORK-FREE. I`D HAVE TO RETURN IT ONE DAY BUT THAT USUALLY MEANS I CAN BORROW NEXT GENERATION AT THAT TIME.

I never experienced an overheating issue either. The bottom of my laptop gets hot enough to be uncomfortable if I am multitasking/playing games etc. It never got to the point of shutting down or displaying a warning message. If I am just browsing the internet and listening to music, it is cool as a cucumber.

Dude it wouldn't be an Apple experience. As a PC & MAC guy (but mostly PC) I can say for sure that you need to buy a real MBP or Air to experience Mac notebooks.

IMO, OS-X by itself (macintosh / VM) isn't really that great, what makes it great (to me) is the perfect merger of hardware and software that results in long battery life and a great touchpad experience.
