Just wanted to say hello. Have been lurking/learning for sometime but not posting. Recently purchased a 2001 3.4 v6 4x4 SR5 automatic w/ 58k miles and have been cleaning/checking things out. So far have had to replace parking brake bellcranks, one sway bar link, change fluids and add weathertech front mats. Truck has not been driven much especially in the last year. Seems to run a little better each time I drive it.

Had a 98 4x4 4cylinder automatic which I loved but the frame was rotten. It aways ran great but I traded it on a new rav4 due to the rot.

Thanks, I really like the low miles, but I think I got carried away and paid a little too much (7K). We plan to use it as tow vehicle for a small travel trailer and wanted something that would last. Hopefully it will pay off. Time will tell.

Hello Jim, I’m up in NH. I’ve got a Tacoma with the same 3.4 motor and I’m at 314k miles. Are you going to treat the frame on your 4Runner? I use fluid film on my Tacoma and 2009 4Runner. These Toyotas will rot out well before the engine will ever die especially in NE with road salt!
