Hey everyone. I've been a proud owner of a 2001 SR5 Sport 4x4 T4R for about 3 years now and have been lurking this forum for quite some time but finally decided to make an account the other day.

This thing has taken me all over the US and is still in one piece at that, which is pretty remarkable since I hit a Wadi in the Palm desert going about 30, got all tires off the ground, and landed safely even though the suspension was worn and the frame was rotted.

As of now, I'm currently repairing and upgrading my beloved 4Runner this winter. What started as parking it in my garage last fall to replace the head gaskets, has turned into doing a full engine rebuild with forged internals and the intention of turbocharging, cleaning up and patching the rotted frame, an finally installing the lift kit I bought for it 2 years ago.

Another interesting and unexpected upgrade I ended up doing just the other day was installing a Momo wheel off a Subaru WRX since the stock steering wheel was all torn up and ratty and I scored this wheel for cheap at a salvage yard. I spent a day and a half widening the splines, custom fitting the stock T4R cruise control module, and rewiring the harnesses, but now as far as I know I'm the only person with a WRX Momo wheel in a 4Runner.

anywho. how'd the rebuild/work go?

Eric.
