Hey folks,

Been checking out the forum here for a couple weeks before I decided to buy my first 4runner! Got a great deal on her too, gotta love craigslist!!

Lots of great info here and friendly people too! Thanks to the folks who linked to the factory service manuals, that info is priceless!

As you can see from the photo she is all stock with the saggy rear syndrome - gonna get that fixed soon

Parts on the way for this weekend are for a tune-up: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, K&N air filter. Also front CV/half shafts (boots torn and joints rattling over bumps)

Now I just need to save some $$$ for the OME rear springs and shocks!!!

Welcome to T4R.ORG! Clean little RNR u got there, very nice! Glad to see u have ur priorities in order. Get 'er runnin great. It not sagging that bad, remember the rear wheelwells are smaller than the front, giving the illusion of sag.

185,000 miles - unknown as to if the timing belt/water pump has been done recently or at all. I plan on doing that soon along with the rear springs/shocks - maybe my $$$ saving goes to that before the springs

I feel a little rear end wiggle/shimmy over bumps at higher speeds so that is another reason for me to replace the rear springs

I just finished the tune-up tonight, timing was off (too far advanced) that would account for my idle speed being 1000-1100 rather than 800 rpm. Also the hot humid day here allowed me to locate the source of my coolant smell/leak, the heater control valve at the firewall is dripping - $45 at local parts store, no biggie

Can't wait to get this gal all spiffed up and ready to tread lightly!! I'm not a balls to the wall kinda off road guy but I like to explore a "jeep trail" or two

Just go to the top of any forum page, like for instance the new member forum or classic T4R's and look for the "New Thread" button on the left

Just click that button and you can start your own thread
