Hi Everyone,
I have been meaning to post on here about my purchase of my 3rd generation, but I haven't had the time. Been busy with work and family.
I bought this 97 from the original owner for $4,000 (they are a premium in California). It (had) 135k. He took care of it extremely well, almost all the maintenance was done at the dealer. Came with the Yakima roof rack plus bike rack and a 5 pin tow package. Interior is in perfect condition. Everything works great. I wanted one with no accident or body work, original or at least 2nd owner and low miles. I had to drive 100 miles to buy it, but it was well worth the trip. Same vehicle with more miles in my area would have cost me $6k at least.
I have had it for a couple of months and am just now getting ready to do my mods. I have been reading a lot on the forums and got a lot of great tips and information from several of you members. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics, info and links.

Plan on posting lot's of updates as I go through this rig with my mods.
I ran across this beefy looking 4Runner and was interested until I found out it had 250k + miles. But it gave me an idea of how I wanted it to sit with a lift and a set of new rubber. Found this on Craigslist and saved the photos:

What I plan in doing in the near future:
1) Plan on doing the Satoshi grill mod. (I'll probably paint the chrome strip flat black on the running boards.
2) Removing, sanding and then painting the wheels flat black.
3) Powder-coating the bumpers black.
4) Lift kit with new Goodyear rubber.
If there are any other ideas or mods you think would be cool and something the average joe can do himself or with some help, please hit me up with a link. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum.
