Hello forum

I just left a deposit on a second generation 4runner V6 1995 with 124K original miles.
I will be picking it up Monday. It will need some work, possibly new muffler (something makes noise under there), def. needs all four new tires, and check engine light is on. However it runs strong. Forgot to check the 4WD system. Will do Monday before I pay the rest of the money.
It has some surface rust, the frame is solid. The antenna mast is broken, when ithe radio is on you can hear the antenna motor running. AC works great.
What else should I check? It's going to be a beater, winter truck, delivery truck, so I don't care much about the looks as long as everything works mechanically.

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few folks from PA on here.

For the antennae, you can disconnect the motor if the mast is broken to keep it from running. Or search for "Taco whip" for doing a mod for your antennae.

Cheap tires - depends on what size you want to run. But IMHO, I wouldn't cheat yourself on tires. Get a good set and they'll last a long time. But if you don't want to go the new tire route, some places to check are Craigslist for slightly used tires or if you can put them on yourself, check out vendors online, such as tirerack.com.
