New member in Northern California

After lurking while I figured out what I was going to buy, now that I have purchased my 95 4Runner it is time to join and contribute. I have a cabin in the Sierra mountains and the plan it to use the 4Runner for towing the hobie cat in the summer and going skiing in the winter.

It has a couple of issues that I need to sort out. If I get in trouble fixing it thanks in advance for the help.

Wheels are MB Wheels, I think model 70's

MB Wheels - 70

It is running 32x11.5R15 tires.

It is slow to get up to speed, and I assume the tires have been swapped but nothing else. 3.0 V6 Automatic SR5 (which I still think of as the 5 Speed, but I guess it turned into a trim level at some point). Just shy of 200K on the clock.

The 3.0 and the automatic is a gutless combo... if you've got towing and mountain passes in your future, I'd look hard at smaller tires or longer gears.

Slow is definitely a good description for the combo. I'm towing a 400lb hobbie cat, so I'm not too worried about that impacting things much, but I will be in the mountains going from 4000 to 6000 ft of elevation often. I haven't searched yet on what gears might make more sense. It is a great suggestion and I'm assuming tires and gears has a lot of history on the forum. If there is a summary thread that would be great to know otherwise google here I come.
