Greetings everyone,

I just joined, reppin richmond va, and thanks to this forum I made a decision on a new set of tires as the original dunlop grandtreks really needed to go especially with the twice a year snow were gonna get this weekend. (virginia drivers!?!?!) I did not want to start another "what tire should I get" thread so narrowed it down and pulled the trigger on some nitto terra graps and since I have an 06 sport went with 265/70/17. NO RUB and they look really good. Thanks everyone for all the info contained here, problem is all the mods on here look very tempting as a lift is next. I think I got a pretty sweet deal from a local, 627.00 for install including alignment.

mike, its my bike rack, but where i am parked there is a sign directly on the other side so it just looks weird, didn't notice until i just looked at the pic again

Kenny I think you should get into mountain biking, it goes along very well with the territory of a 4 wheel drive. All it would take to start is a few hundred bucks, heck thats a 1/3 of a cost of a typical mod for the truck.....and theres where the decision gets tougher. The great thing is that there are so many places to ride
 
Looks great! I'm considering these as well, just haven't decided yet. Please post an update of how they do in the snow? Any difference in ride compared to the stocks (feel, noise, etc)? And also, any pics from the front?

Welcome to the forum! These tires are on my list as well, so any feedback on the ride qualities will be appreciated.

$627 for 4 tires, or did you get 5 including the spare?

well the snow has ended here in va i believe, I am in Richmond so got quite a bit. We got about 11-12 inches (roads not cleared at all yet) I did not put the truck in 4x4 at all until I went to back into my driveway but I am on a decent slope. These things grabbed and away I went. I tried to toss it around a lot but the terra graps hung on very well. So so pleased with these. The ride is great on street to, very quiet for an AT compared to the BFGs AT's on my taco. I thought they would ride rougher but didn't feel any difference. Compared to the stock Duncraps?.....no comparison at all....will snap some pcs to include front in the next couple of days. Man these tires rock!!!! :trophy:

Funny thing, I actually was in such a hurry to get these installed this past week before the snow that I only got four and until the following day realized what about the spare:shrug: So I will putting that on next week... I am certainly glad my head is in fact attached to my body:lmao: I am sure there are better and different qualities to some of the tires recommended on this forum and believe me I read alot but for the price I paid I am really satisfied especially after todays snow drive.

Great to have friends with the same truck as yours and a bit of knowledge of how to navigate around them. I too used a ton of advice to upgrade my rig ('07 SR5 V6 4x) a few weeks ago. After tooling around the site I discovered great info on DIYs (I've since done my own plugs, the in cabin-filter and a few other basic but necessary fixes). I also did some major upgrades based on information found here. Had the shop replace the stock springs with the thicker bar stock FJ springs, added pro-comp es6000 (front) es3000 (rear) and did a Daystar 2.5"/1.5" lift/level kit. Thought about keeping the stock wheels and adding spacers, but went with V-tec 17x9 wheels wrapped with Hankook Atm Rf10's. I too had Bfs on my taco as well as revos, went back and forth with the Grapplers but ultimately decided on the Hankooks based on the question of mileage.

When you do anything else, let us know...always curious.

How do you like the Hankooks compared to the Revos? They're on my list as well.
 
I am in the process of getting nitto terra graps as well. They are on back order and looking forward to getting them. Thanks for the pics.
