New member w/Discolored fender flares.

Hello to all, I am buying a 2003 V8 Sport next week. I have owned toyotas before but this is the first 4Runner. I will be looking to buy factory service manuals in order to perform all necessary work etc... My first question is about a sort of marbled look with grey/black color shades in one of my fender flares. Is this typical ? and can it be corrected shy of replacement ? I may look into removing all of the plastic , having it painted silver to match the truck and putting it back on. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

It won't last long, but try using Armor-All protectant on the plastic fender flares/body cladding. I use it on the plastic thing that goes along the top of the back bumper on my '05, and it really makes it shine.

Do not use Armor-All protectant, it has a petroleum solvent in it. Do not use any petroleum based products on plastic or rubber. Two really good products are Vinylex and Aerospace 303.
