Hello all,
I just found this forum 2 weeks ago but i wish i would have found it back when I bought my 4runner in December. T4r.org is the best site for info on the 4runner especially with all the extra info/research that members contribute. I'm glad I have a 4runner.

I'd like to change the exhaust or some HID headlights but I'll probably have to start with something like that ashtray kit so I can get that 2nd outlet. I also need to change the floormats since I'm using the ones from my previous vehicle (which are brown & don't match). After seeing all the mods done in this forum, it makes you want to change everything.

I know the feeling. I'm jealous of the rest of these bastards around here. :D

Anyway, nice truck. :)

A few more pics:

An ashtray kit would reduce some clutter here:

It's a good unit but it's kind of old now, about 6 years old so there are probably better ones from Escort or Valentine.
I've never had a ticket using it - you just have to use it smartly & realize that you are still very vulnerable to instant-on radar.
It did save me one time: lady in previous gen M3 was tailgating me on some twisties - couldn't lose her. The road became a long straight with a sweeping curve at the end. The straight became 2 lanes on each side so she merged left and attempted to pass me but since I had it floored, it was taking her a long time. Detector beeped very shortly (K-band) and I knew there must be a cop around the curve. I lifted & braked slightly back down to 55 - M3 leaving me in the dust. After I came around the curve, there she was pulled over. Other than that, I usually don't drive much more than 10 over.

Were you in your 4th generation 4Runner when this happened? It would be pretty cool if she had trouble keeping up with your Runner!

Yes, I was. I'd like to think she had it floored. She would have smoked me eventually. Unfortunately, I see that person everyday (oops). I'm not sure what the specs are for the previous M3 - gotta check with the M3 owners in this forum.

is that a good device? Since I drive kind of fast.
Linhsy, the man will pull you over if he sees one in your car. They are still illegal in VA if I'm not mistaken. I got a ticket for having one driving up I-81 near Harrisonburg.

FYI - Stock E36 M3 was 240hp in the US and 320hp in Europe. It is (of course) completely different than the 240hp iForce v8; where you really love the power and handling is off-the-line, corners, and high speed. I used to hit my 134mph governer on a regular basis and it felt smoother than my Runner @ 90.

white

looks really nice, especially in the south. but at the time of my purchase, upstate NY, I was a little tired of all the white fluffy stuff that lasted way, way , way tooo long.

Your ride looks like a beaut
