First I wanted to say what a great website this is.

I just purchased a 2003 4runner Sports Edition 2wd today. There are quite a few things that I need to get done as far as regular scheduled maintenance (plugs, wires, break pads, tires, oil change, transmission service, shocks and struts). The only thing that needs attention right away is the tires. It has 129K miles and picked her up for only $8500. When I drove it home today I was getting 24-25 miles per gallon...does the mpg counter on these give an accurate reading?

I've been on the lift and tire tread and have been drooling for a couple of days now. I would love to do some of the modifications like the leveling kit, spacers and new tires but worried that it will affect the mpg. What are your thought on this?

Also, what can I use to clean the plastic paneling?

Nice looking truck. Sounds like a good deal. After all the maintenance is caught up I'm sure you'll get years of good service out of her still.

The truck's MPG is pretty optimistic, hand calculations will give you a couple MPG less.

Welcome!

That is a beautiful truck! It is a clone of my previous runner- those pics are making me miss it even more.

Well...I just left 4 wheel parts and ordered the following that will be installed next Friday.

*Bilstein shocks and struts
*Daystar 2.5/1.5 leveling kit
*Nitto Terra Grapplers 265/70/17

Thinking about adding the Spidertrex 1.25" spacers but haven't yet.
