New Mexico 4Runner Owners Thread

Hey guys! Bought my 4runner about 2 years ago. Haven't done much with it as far as having fun besides a 12 day road trip, camping, and a couple mud spots. It's a '97 Limited Edition. Completely stock. Want to slowly start doing some Mod's and a few cosmetic fixes. It was in a roll over accident but still runs like a champ.

That doesn't look too bad in that side considering a roll over.

Has anyone been to the great sand dunes park in CO? I'm thinking of going and wondering if anyone knows of any good trails/areas to cover.

I've been there when I was younger but not in the runner.

I've been there when I was younger but not in the runner. From what I've read is that you can only take high clearance vehicles on Medano pass but this link says its partially closed right now. http://www.nps.gov/grsa/medano-pass-road.htm. It's fun hiking around the dunes though.

It's definitely not in as bad of shape as it could be. The passenger side has a nice size dent about the passenger door. And on the driver side, the rear window is very scratch, there is also a nice size dent right next to the tail light, and the tail light is broken. Oh and the antenna is MIA. So he needs some work done.

Not bad at all. Mines a 4 yrs older and probably looks rougher than that and has never rolled. The PO said a car port fell on mine.

Good time with up in Cedro with Pefiln, thanks for tagging along. We want to start doing more trips around the ABQ area.

Looks like a good trip! I might have to gather the family up and tag along one of these days. Just spent the weekend in the Jemez again, FS 535a was rougher than i expected!

I actually spent the weekend up in the Jemez as well. Found an awesome camping spot. Didn't do a whole lot of off road but enjoyed the 4Runner and it's camping ability.

Holy crap. I've camped there many a time, end of a road off of FS 144, right? Take a left off of 144 at the tree growing at an almost 45 deg. angle?

Yeah I believe that might actually be it lol I don't really remember the tree growing at 45° but that does sounds correct. It was an amazing spot and I plan on going there again soon. Maybe next time I'll find you out there haha

Yeah, the big boulders looked familiar. Awesome! We'll need to get a day trip together, looks like dbart82 has some kids as well, mine love getting out too.

It was a great spot. Didn't care for the hail which dropped pine needles and sap (all of which I'm still trying to get off my truck) but overall a great place. I only have furry kids but they love the open road too.

Wow, looks like you got hit by that big storm that washed out everyone's yards/roads in Jemez Village and Gilman. That sucks, I was camped well to the west of that area, so only got some light rain. The FS actually closed FS 376 before the Gilman tunnels due to the road being washed out to some degree.

Unfortunately the FJ isn't mine. I sell parts at Vescovo Toyota (formerly Las Cruces Toyota) and that belongs to the owner, his Dad's is much nicer.

It's located in Salida, CO and it's about a 5 hr drive from Rio Rancho. Is there anyone that would like to caravan with us up there? In town for the week, saw a few 4runners around.

One on Alameda near Rio Grande blvd parked at the pool supply store. Green with black moto metal wheels and bumpers and a light bar on the roof.

Another on the street one over from my parents house in Corrales. Also green with bumpers and an AZ plate. With a badass Unimog parked next to it.

Really miss it here, never realized how bright it always is. Ohio is so cloudy all time.
