VORTEX CHERRY BOMB ON TOYOTA 4RUNNER?

I WOULD LIKE A NEW MUFF FOR MY RIDE,

WHAT DO U GUYS THING ABOUT THAT VORTEX CHERRY BOMB MUFF FOR A TOYOTA 4RUNNER 96- 3.4L V6?


OR WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE HAVE? LET ME KNOW, DONT WNAT TO SPEND MORE THAN 200 BUCKS.

sorry i couldn't resist. I am looking for a new "MUFF" as well. I've heard the vortex is very loud. Below is a quote directly from Burtman Industries page. They sell this muffler for $89

well yeah thats the same page i read (website) i ahve been looking at.
how does it compare to other muffs?
 
i don't personally know, if you read the other thread about cat backs it kinda gets into it. also read the thread i started yesterday about muffs. The previous owner of my t4r had the vortex on and he said he liked it a lot. But i also get the feeling he liked anything and everything burtman sells for t4r's.

I think i'm going with a magnaflow 24". RonMaiden states it sounds better than stock but is not loud and obnoxious.
 
ok, im looking for something that u can just hear at idol, not quite as loud as a deisel truck but noticable when i floor it, i think the vortex might be good
 
on burtmans vortex page, theres a video clip wit the sound...listen to it! im guessing its a v6 and it sounds pretty good...im thinking about getting this muffler too
 
i was talking to some guys at work, i found out one of em had a muff on his f150 and i have heard it but allways wanted to ask him! sounds GREAT! and he said it was only a 6 cylinder! i swore it was an 8 by the way it just rummbled! i was truly shocked....

he said it was a magnaflow, Truly shocking

i got on the magnaflow site, its exactly what a co-workers 6cyl ford sounnds like

For what its worth, when I was getting my vortex muffler installed, the shop who installed it primarily sold magnaflow mufflers. He said he hadn't heard the vortex muffler ( its a newer model) from cherry bomb (old company who a few years ago got bought and is under new ownership). Well he tried to push his magnaflow, but after the install of the vortex, was very impressed and said it sounded similar to the magnaflow that he was pushing.
 
I have the 5x11x28" Magnaflow in polished stainless steel with mandrel bent 2.5" stainless pipes. If I'm not mistaken, polished version comes in 304 stainless unlike the 409 stainless on the satin.

It is just a little louder than stock. Gotta love Magnaflow's straight through design, materials, and low cost. Stainless housing, core, deadening mesh, AND welds all for a whopping hundred bucks...

Dynomax is not bad. BUT... they don't have as much packing material - no stainless mesh. It is unclear whether their perforated core is stainless.

No offense to anyone with Flowmasters but baffled/chambered mufflers are a complete waste of time. The design is strictly for sound, (click above dynomax link - shows exhaust flow comparisons ). If anything, the design increases turbulence and backpressure. Anyone with a science background will laugh his/her a$$ off at the following BS:

I HIGHLY recommend you go with Magnaflow from a cost & performance standpoint.
