New muffler, new annoying rattle(with video)

Im going to make 2 guesses and it was hard to determine what it is but I would say that either a baffle is going out inside of it or one of your hangers is causing that noise. I would take it back to the muffler people and have them ride with you so they can diagnose it a little better
Ya im going there tomorrow, i pushed up on the heat shields and just snooped around and didnt notice anything lose or that would cause it to rattle like that but im no mechanic, hopefully they fix it its like driving with a squeaky belt i feel like everyone keeps lookin at my truck

I couldn't hear it in the video....but my guess would be the tail pipe??? When mine rotted off the muffler....it sat on top of the rear axle....and rattled like crazy......just a thought....but maybe they didn't hang it properly and it is slightly touching the top of the rear axle????

I work for a dealership and it sounds like the regular exhaust clamp is loose or heatsheild rub. Put it in park in the driveway and every rattle has a harmonic point to which it rattles. Find that sweet spot and get under it while a buddy does it. That should solve the problem.
I did that on the lift at the shop where I got it at and they said it had to be something with the muffler but I dont know if they were just blowin smoke. I couldnt get it to rattle on the lift but driving around it does it at around 1600 to 2000 RPM, I got it there on the lift but it sounded fine. I took one of the guys with me on the road and he still thought it was the baffle in the muffler.

Yeah like I said previously it sounds like a baffle is loose in the inside and if your muffler shop didnt do so already have him weld the hangers to your frame. I have my muffler guy do that to all of my exhaust I had put on my vehicles and I never have to worry about a hanger breaking or coming loose and causing rattles and I would have your muffler guy change out your muffler if you arent satisfied with the exhaust he should do everything possible to keep his costumers happy imho. goodluck
Ya I will have them weld them on that's a great idea. I have to wait for another one to be sent in because I ordered that one from summit so it should be in on Tuesday, but it sucks because I'm still probably going to have to pay to get the bad one off and the new one back on. But after that hopefully I'm good to go :driving:

well if its the baffle then the muffler shop had nothing to do with that and I hope he doesnt make you pay to take it off and put a new one on. I would think he would do it out of good business ethics b/c you will tell your friends on how great his service was and so on and so on giving him more business and I hope you got summit to send you one free.
Ya they sent me a free one with next day shipping so it should be on by Wednesday, love the sound of the muffler hopefully the new one doesn't act up at all. But everyone told me to go to this place so I figure they run a good business they seemed pretty willing to help but thanks everyone for the advice, its nice to have a site like this

Had that same sound appear yesterday on my 4th Gen while I was on the highway. At first I thought that my new magnaflow wasn't welded in properly, etc. It kept getting worse, and finally when I turned into my driveway, out falls the freakin exhaust heat shield. I'm worried whether I need it or not..
But in any event, it sounded like dragging a tailpipe or muffler on the road in short little bursts. I was about to go to the exhaust shop and make heads roll, but thankfully it was just the heat shield and not my entire exhaust system.
