New Options on Build Your Own Toyota

I was just on the build your own Toyota website (playing around as usual) and noticed that as I was building a new SR5, there were many more options available to add on. For example see below


Premium Package w/ Leather 3rd Row Seating with Additional Options $5,205

* [CP] Convenience Package - Power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade and front and rear 120V AC power outlets
* [DJ] AM/FM/MP3 CD player with eight speakers, integrated XM Satellite Radio [5] with 3-month trial subscription, USB port [6] with iPod® [7] connectivity, and hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth® [8] wireless technology and steering wheel audio controls
* [FE] 50 state emissions
* [TI] Premium Package: Leather-trimmed and heated 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support and 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, leather-trimmed second row, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and courtesy lamps. 50/50 split fold-flat-into-floor third-row seating and sliding second row with passenger-side one-touch walk-in function.

This package with all of the things in it were never available together in my area (northeast). You could either select a 3rd row seat and settle for sport fabric or select leather and not have the 3rd row.
I like this change a lot. What do you guys think?

Why couldn't they do this before? It was also hard to find 4runners with the 3rd row. I have an sr5 without a third row and I wish I could have gotten the third row with leather. I need it every now and then.

When I first looked for SR5 4Runners in March 2010, it was very hard to find 3rd row seating. When I started to shop for T4R in November, those were the very options in the OP that was given and 3rd row was much more common.

But here in TX, I find that the following options/standard are not listed on "Build a Toyota" for 4runners compared to if you were to put a Philly zip code.

(1) Rear view camera on mirror
(2) heater wipers
(3) 3-pin A/C socket (to plug in small household appliances)


Seems to be some regional differences for "Standard" and "Options" available.

Take a look at Little Seats. They make after market third rows for the 4th gen. Should be coming out with a 5th gen soon. If they don't make it in leather, you can probably add leather aftermarket.

I need a third row, but I REALLY wanted a Trail. Unfortunately, I didn't know about "Little Seats" and the "geniuses" at Toyota didn't think a person with more than 3 kids would ever want to go offroading. UGH!!!!

Same thing happened last year. As they build more, more options become available. When I bought back in Nov 09' there were only a few packages as well, but every couple of months they added more configuration packages to the mix. I remember looking when the 11' came out (which there was basically no change) all of a sudden those config packages went away and now seem to be trickling back in. Plus, different regions all have different packages.

Got these same options in July of 2010 on our SR5. Very nice......Why wouldn't these be available all over the country?

Yeah, i have looked at the little se at s. Their website is not the best though. I want it to have the factory look though. I will have to see when they come out.
