New Owner 97 4wd 6cyl SR5...New to Forums!!..Need Ideas!!!

Hey guys just got a 1997 4Runner 4wd 6cyl SR5. I am clearly new to forums but I have seen what alot of you guys have done to your 4Runners and their awesome. Truck had a front passenger side dent which forced me to replace the chrome bumper and valance, turn signal light, cornering light, and headlight. Now I was curious to see if it was possible to upgrade my 4Runner in any way. For example the headlights, I have pretty much the entire front end off except the driver side but before I install the headlights i may want to upgrade them if its possible. Any ideas guys??? And i will post pictures once I figure them out.

short of retrofitting prejectors there's not much u can do 2 the head lights themselves.. u could get clear corners and bumper lights.. somthin cool 2 do while its apart would b 2 customize the grill

you should just do it big and get an ARB or Shockworks bumper. but if you dont want to spend that kind of money right now i would get clear corners, HID's and possibly do a custom grill.

THANKS for the feedback guys!...Hmmm Custom Grill uh? interesting...where would i even start with that? like a custom paint job? sry i ask alot of questions this is my first car and im only 18...is there any way to make the front headlights clear?? And how do u change the bulbs in the headlight to make them HIDs??? Oh and how can i upload pictures??? it says the attachment is tooo big...???

go to your closest auto parts store and get a chilton book CD for your computer. and for the HID's you just need bulbs, look on ebay for some that are between 7000 and 10000k. but they arent hard to put in. neither are the clear corners, the chilton book is a great investment

You can upgrade to the '99+ headlights. I did and I like them a lot more.

Clear corners are about $60.
Tint $180 or $60-80 for the fronts.
LED tail lights.
New rims, new tires.

I would at least put some Silverstars in the headlights, maybe HID's if you don't mind glare.

Also, I would look into the deckplate mod. Another standard suggestion and a good all-around mod.

I would start out with the 99-02 headlights, they are much clearer.

Looks like you have the brackets from a brush guard on there, those can go. (they are attatched where the tow hook and tie down are)

u hav 2 get a plug and play for the hids and retrofitting projectors would look clearer.. for the custom grill u cut out the center and u could make it mesh or do the satoshi mod which looks really good

Yeah I second the satoshi mod. Im getting everything together to do it to my runner. You can look it on yotatech.
