Basically satin is in between matte and gloss. Lol @ "hold muh beer"

All the lexus colors would be gloss, satin is a sheen, with less light reflection than gloss. Hope that helps.

Haha, I seem to remember seeing something in gloss desert tan, maybe like an old OEM land cruiser color or something. I have the Camburg LT kit upper and lower arms, the fenders are just tacoma fiberglass fenders from McNeil, they don't fit that great, but it does the job.

I think they look badass haha and I'll look, hopefully the guys that did the first photoshops will do a few more for me on the other thread in the "general" section, I still can't decide on a damn color

wow, that helps if I decide to go to the LC blue, but I cannot believe I forgot about that website, after my brother got done building his and after he graduated college he moved back in for a year or so, he was really interested in getting all the little nick nacky shit fixed on his LC60 and he bought a bunch of pricey stuff from there (emblems, grille, shifter knob and boot etc.) but those are some cool colors...I just wish I could see them all on my 4runner before having to pick one to actually paint it haha

I just painted my 4runner, my 2 cents on flat or satin paint: I think you can pull it off on a newer vehicle, much like the tacoma you posted. On these trucks, I think it just ends up looking like a turd with a crappy paint job. I actually bought flattening agent for my paint, and sprayed out a fender in satin, the dust stuck to it, and it looked cheap. I opted to go full gloss and am very thankful I did. My 2008 F450 will get flat though. lol

I guess I would have to disagree that a satin paint job would look like a turd.

The Blue is my favorite from the above, but I could understand if its not for everyone. Its definitely a bold move.
I have a personal love for the color as the first car I ever drove was a very similar color "alfa romeo le mans blue".

So...after alot of thought, and staring at my photoshoped 4runner. I've eliminated it down to four options. I know alot of y'all have had your input but I opened a poll cause I'm a visual kid and I want to see the numbers on what everyone thinks. I've been talking back and fourth with [MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION] the past couple of days and with my friends to try to make up my damn mind. In case you haven't been able to tell already I was really inspired by [MENTION=63060]rickashay[/MENTION] 's 4runner as I'm sure alot of us were and his LX450 is freaking sick. so I've added the OEM Black/ Bed liner option because I think the way it came out on his LX450 is badass, I can't find any pictures where anyones gone with those lines on a 4runner, I know the body lines are different so don't start shootin flames haha but I'm strongly considering this option after bullshitting around with tyler and some of my boys here at school. If I do go the OEM black/ Bed Liner option I would get only the parts of the truck that wouldn't be bedlined re painted.

I know I shot down the idea earlier in this thread but like I said, I've been inspired and opened up to new ideas in tossing the idea around. Especially cause I found my self telling tyler "yeah...I feel like when I get it re-painted it's going change my style of wheeling." which would suck because I don't want to be paranoid everytime I go out and wheel...I mean why the hell do we build these things?

so If I decide to go this route this is the line I would take...

I'll toss this out there just to make things worse. Line-x will color match pretty much whatever color you want. Personally I feel it works better with darker colors from the ones I've seen, but if you were thinking about that lexus gray it could come out nice.

Like I told you, if I had to repaint mine I would bedliner the lower half atleast. I'd love not to give a damn about trees. This wouldn't have happened atleast haha.

Blue liner would be amazing. It would give the blue the masculinity it needs.
That having been said black is probably my favorite OEM color.

First of all, I'm stoked to hear my 4Runner AND my Lexus has inspired you in any way. Your truck is badass in it's own right and it's so cool how we take ideas we each like and combine them and evolve them to create something each our own. Thanks for the compliments!

I think you and TMach both are getting onto my train of thought. I wanted to paint my LX "Cement Gray" from the 2013 FJ Trail Team. I think that color is so badass. But then I got to thinking, I would spend SO much on paint, just to turn around and be SO paranoid about it on the trail. Don't get me wrong, I like a clean and scratch free truck everywhere I can, but sometimes, with this hobby that we do, it's just not realistic. I actually had a scratch on my 4Runner JUST like TMach's but you just couldn't see it very good on the Desert Dune. With the LX I am so excited to point the truck where I want to on overgrown trails and just not worry about it. 85% of my scratches on the 4Runner were on the fenders and doors. So I think the bodyline idea just works.....

Now to really make you think otherwise, this 4Runner was/is one of my favorite ones of all time, check out the LineX line he chose, I think it works excellent on the 3rd gen (although I HATE the diamond plate he put ont afterwards...)
