New Color

Stopped in the local Toyota today, just wanted to see how their inventory was, and see if they are still marking them up over MSRP. The had about 20 new cars on the lot, which is more than they've had in the past few years. And yes, they are still charging $1K over MSRP.

Saw a TRD ORP in a dark grey, almost black color. Window sticker showed it as "UNDERGROUND". First time I've seen this color. Really looked sharp, not sharp enough that I'd give up my 2021 Cement Trail, but I liked it.

Looks like it is an OEM color, never heard of it

I just bought a trd orp with kdss in Underground. It is a great color, changing from grey to almost black, and even with some purple undertones in different light conditions. I am very pleased with my choice.

Saw an ORP in a grocery parking lot and the owner just happened to be loading up at the same time. Chatted him up about it and of course he loves it. The color looks great in person.

Good looking, but have fun maintaining the finish more than actually driving the thing ... :bounce: Me? Nature washes my rig more than I do, since I live well off pavement. I don't have a garage, so silver or white are great colors for planned neglect. :cowboy:

My thoughts exactly when ordering my white 2024 TRD offroad! The "underground" looked almost black to me on the lot.

No more added markup at dealer in NE Florida I was happy to find. However, they seem to only keep in stock "Premium" models and ones with a lot of options that drive the price way up. We will see how long it takes them to get one without all of the doo dads I don't need.

I've been scouring inventory looking for an ORP in Underground around the Jax area but I really want (ok I must have) XP package. Arlington had one in transit and I guess it got snagged up or rerouted to another dealer. This would be my first 4R in 20 years.

The XP package is a break-off of the SR5 package.
Historically, the XP package is a package only available in the SouthEast Toyota District.

There are a few TRD OffRoad Premium in Underground color in your area, it looks like there are 5 within a 100 mile radius... Not sure how far you are wanting to travel.

I saw one locally, light plays on it differently.....gets darker fast.

I like.

3 showed up at my local dealer earlier this week, two limited and an SR5 premium. I went and looked at them, in the lighting at night it looks like a deep dark grey. When i put my LED headlights on it, it looks like a metallic black and battleship grey mixed. Its not a bad color at all.

Thanks. I did see that in transit recently at Gatorland and it looks like they felt the need to add some fancy pinstripes. I guess those can be peeled off if they're vinyl. I understand that XP is a port installed package. Is it only Southeast that offers this? I've also seen some 4runners on youtube that had a toytech lift added by the dealer or maybe that was done at port? I wonder if southeast toyota does this too. Local dealer I talked to said he hadn't heard about any lift options being added.

The pinstripes are easy to remove with an "eraser" if you want them gone. Any body shop or paint supply place, and even some auto zone style stores sell them. They go on a drill, spin slow speeds, and quite literally "erase" the pinstripe.
The XP has in the past been a SouthEast Toyota only package. I am not sure if its port installed or stuff that is done in Japan. I have not dug into how or where the stuff is installed.
Toyota doesnt do lift kits, your dealer is going to be the make-or-break on that one. Some dealers are willing to do whatever, some are anti-lift. You wont know until you ask. Almost all of the dealers i know that have lifted stuff on their lots, and even have vehicles lifted for owners to facilitate a sale to rope into the payments or whatever, have these done by independent shops. They will normally send the vehicle to an upfitter, an independent shop that does upgrades, stereo systems, lifts, tool boxes, ect ect. More than likely the vehicles you have seen were not done at a dealer, but done at an idependent shop and the "accessory" that was added would be added to the sticker price or financing.
I have seen many people in the past talk their dealer into a tire upgrade, topper, adding leather to cloth interior, ect ect. Pretty much all of these upgrades are done at an independent shop and not at the dealer. Your dealer may be game for that and get a leveling kit installed for you, or they may be totally against it. You wont know until you ask.

Thanks again. What you say makes perfect sense to me. I know I heard on a video that Toyota was offering a lift kit on '24 4runners then I stumbled on this video and it looked like a dealer added package (along with the roof rack). Might have been Toyota Jeff or lil Kenny. The crazy part is it ends up being priced about the same as a TRDORP with XP and a few other options like LED puddle, sunroof, PDF etc...I'd take this listed TRDORP all day vs those port added options.

That is certainly not a stock suspension or a Toyota item, that is pretty dang big honestly thats every bit of 3.5" up front. The stock A-arms are at a pretty good angle, the caster wont adjust like it should be, those front aftermarket coil-overs are up pretty high. from the looks, it looks a little nose high maybe or dead level, but the rear likely has 2" lift springs. I dont guess this is common at a Toyota dealer, putting the upper A-arm ball joint at that angle, thats known to wear them out in a short amount of time. I suspect that vehicle is going to need some front end work by the time it hits 100,000 miles. You typically wouldnt see a dealer do something like that.

1-2" lift up front to level it out is likely not too much to ask, putting a 3.5" kit on is much higher than i would think any dealer would be ok with doing. But then again like i said in the previous post, its all up to the dealer. Some are willing to do whatever and some are dead set against it.
