I've looked at the 3rd gen and tried to think of a way to get the bedliner straight down the side like I did on my 80 series. I hate the body lines don't match up because it would make it much easier. I thought about just running 1" or 2" wide tape just below the windows and forget tracing the body lines so it would look a little like my old LC.



I've also contemplated going with a color close to this. It was a custom color created from a mistake when ordering a certain paint code according to Christo Slee. Here is the build for good measure. Featured 100: Slee Off-Road - 1998 UZJ105 - Solid Axle 100 Series

Yeah the body lines are a little flawed in the sense of the 1/2 and 1/2 bedliner paint. I'm really liking this look, the only bummer is I've only seen it on LC's. Trust me I've been staring at these paint options on and off every day and the only thing that I've come up with so far is having the bedliner come all the way up on the body line in the back and keeping it straight where the body line tapers down to follow more closely with where the bedliner would meet where the bodyline starts on the front. does that make sense? If so...what are your thoughts, love your LC by the way. Ironically enough before I bought the 4runner a White, 4wd, LC80 with leather interior and less miles got sold out from under me which obviously turned into me buying the 4runner

Thanks for the comments about the Lc. I loved it but gas mileage was around 10 mpgs with the 35s and the motor was a dog. I wish I had it back to work on a cummins 6bt swap while having my 4runner as a daily driver.

Haha, I wont have the windows to follow with my tape line on the fenders so I'll have to blend the flenders paint line in with the back half of the truck.

Here is what I was talking about. The black line is the tape so it will reveal your fresh paint underneath.

Yeah I agree that if you do half bed liner you should divide it with a straight line and not follow the body lines...
But if you follow the body lines you can always later fill it in and make it straight line, it would be much more difficult to go the other way around.
PS.. My vote is still for blue bed liner.

and you're saying that it would be like 2" of tape under the windows? what if I broght it all the way down to the body lines in the back and ran it straight like you're talking about. would it still match up with the front you think?

I haven't measured just figured a 1", 1.5", or 2" wide tape would do it. It's just an idea I've ran through my head a few times without really getting too technical with seeing how it would work out.
