I think I would either get the smoked or the OEM smoked.

I don't think Black on silver would look great.

Alright, I have read all the threads on here and Yotatech but I can't really find a definative answer.

Will I have ABS light problems if I install these LED tails?

I know about some having to install resistors after such mods and others not having to. I am willing to cut the reverse bulb wire and wire it to the new tails but don't want to have to mess with putting resistors in.

Can anyone give me a definate answer?

I will also add that I will be getting a JDM spoiler soon that has LED's too, although I believe that comes with a built in resistor.

the answer is YES... install LEDs and run the risk of the ABS light coming on... If it does come on by a resistor and that should solve the problem. When I put those pics up, the ABS wasnt on, no problem, but after putting a 921 bulb in the third brake light, the ABS popped on...

ABS is inactive if that light is on, so I took it to the dealer to have them get the code and find a solution... The code is: 49, and it comes back to a brake pedal sensor error, the dealers solution was to go back to stock lighting, but I think i'd rather get the resistor... So there is my update to my issue, it all happened to me in thepast two days, so fresh off the press...

So yours came on only after the 3rd brake was swithched too, right.

When people have put only a spoiler with LEDs I have read they had to light both high mounts because of the exact problem you had, and that was from trying to switch the high mount only.

What resistor are you planning on using and where have you decided to mount it.

Sorry for all the ?'s but I want to make sure I want to open this "can of worms" before I buy the LED tails.

The electrical system of my car is one spot I won't take any risks.

What I have gathered from reading all the threads is that people normally don't have problems just installing the tail lights. The problems arise with they either change the third brake light or do the tail lights and the third brake light.

These tails are just like the '06 - '08 4Runner oem tails. Neither the reverse bulbs nor the turn signal bulbs are LED. Only the running light and brake light are LEDs.

No. You can add LED bulbs to those slots though.

I am considering purchase myself but looking to get best bang for my buck.

So LED tails are not true LEDs for all the bulbs I gather-but LEDs can be substituted for the standard reverse and turn signal bulbs .

Any disagreement?
