New project

I think the bumper is somewhere around 150lbs. You can get it with zero hoops, one hoop or all three like Josh

Whew that's heavy! I'd say I'd at least need the middle hoop to strap to a forklift to hold it up while bolting on!

As long as you have a floor jack and two people you should be good. My understanding is it is nothing too horrible, just sort of awkward when you put it on.

Thanks guys,
Basically everything that Blair said is right. It's only about 150 lbs and can be installed with 2 people. We didn't even use a floor jack, we just muscled it. We wrapped some jacks with towels to rest it on and for support in case it slipped.

I would be careful with your forklift method, as it will rip the powdercoat right off. It looks much better with all 3 hoops though, trust me. I have seen them with none, 1, and all 3 and it looks better by far with all 3.

R8RRunner,
The wait time sucked, but here is how I looked at it. The alternative is ARB. The ARB bumper can arrive to you within a week or 2, however they don't look very good. They are very square, don't fit the contours of the truck, and are less sturdy. The way I looked at it was this: In 6 months, it won't matter which one I chose, one of them will be on my truck regardless of how long I had to wait. So at that point in time, was I going to regret buying an ARB for instant gratification when SW is clearly the better bumper? My thinking was yes, hence why I ordered the SW and I couldn't be happier. The ARB bumpers look terrible IMHO, but some people like them.

I got the fairlead on, lights all wired up, now I am just waiting for the splash guards.

Damn...sorry I think Im alone here...but Im not a fan of those big ARB/SW bumpers. They look weird, IMHO. But I do appreciate your modding skills =)

Can you fit bigger tires with these bumpers? Say 35"s? If my mind remembers correctly (dont bet any money on it) it was the front side of the wheel fender that wasnt clearing bigger tires....is that correct?

Why are you not posting on here anymore? Are you whoring around on us?

I can fit 35's but it would require trimming the back of the fender (where the mudflaps usually go) and I'd have to do a body mount chop. Not worth it while my truck is still a daily driver. I agree with you on the ARB bumpers, but the SW bumpers fit the contours of the truck perfectly, don't stick out on the sides, etc. They look awesome. It also gives me a place to mount my winch and lights.

I don't post too often because my truck is going a different direction than what this forum is geared towards. I have no plans for 22" rims, chrome, fighting over who has the biggest subs in the back of their truck, etc.

I still poke around on some threads every now and then though.

I think you should pop in more often, your rig is looking great, very clean and mean looking!
I really don't think this forum is geared towards what you just said, Obviously there are people who mod there 4runner that way like say in the pimp zone, but i would say the ALOT would want there 4runner to look & perform like yours. Your truck is definitely appreciated here.

Thanks. I agree that some do, but we are definitely a minority.

So where are you posting now?

I know some guys with pretty sweet 2wd pre-runner style 4Runners.

I meant more along the lines of the big rims, chrome everything, etc. Here's an example that I came across a while back which cracked me up. I think a little more chrome could have been edited into the photo, what do you think? Bling Bling!!
