I got some prices on the oem bilstiens on the trd fj cruiser. maybe i am wrong but i am thinking those may be a little softer then the aftermarket ones but still better then the stock. Let me know if anyone disagrees.

Yeah, i thought so too. but that is straight from the local toyo dealer. I know I am bouncing around a lot but, any info on the 5100 series? I guess i keep going back to the bilsteins. I will probably check out the FJ forum for a used set rather than paying full retail at the dealer. My stock ones are not completely shot just yet so I have some time to look. Thank you all for your input.

If you can get the springs AND shocks, then that would be very cool...FJ springs will give your 4runner a more even (front to back) look and a slight lift!

From what i read on fjcruiserforum.com, the ride doesnt get much stiffer with the 5100 series and the lift is adjustable. From stock to 2.5 inches for the front which would level it out. Just a thought anyway.

Bilstein 5100 series...

I'ved read in this forum(I'm ignorant to this things LOL!), that most have SAW and ICONS and they are expensive. Notice the Tundra Coilovers above, they are selling it for $674.99 Pair! I hope they will be available for the 4th Gen 4runner.

Well I got the scoop direct from bilstein today. Internally, there is no difference between the 4600 series (standard aftermarket) and the 5100 series. The 5100 series just comes in extended lengths for lift kits. Also noted that the 5100 adj. ride height for the front will essentially do the same thing as buying a new shock and putting on a spacer. You can buy the 5100 for non-lifted trucks and they are only different in color. So I am thinking I am going to with the 5100 series so I can level out the front. He did mention that the 5100 would be a better shock with a spacer kit, just put the retaining ring on the shock back to the oem ride height groove.
