Finally replaced the Dunflops with BFG AT KO 265/70 R17.

All I can say is that these are awesome tires!! I have little, if any, rubbing with the stock suspension. The ride is as good or better than the Dunflops (meaning not bone jarring or hard). The handling did suffer a bit due to the larger sidewall, so I don't take 270 degree offramps at 60 mph any more, had to slow down to 55 :D

Those look meaner than Rosie Colvin bearing down of Peyton Manning!

Just in time for winter, too. We're getting snow! I also put on 265/70's and it really fills up the wheel well.
 
The only caveat the installer mentioned about these tires is to be sure to keep the front aligned. With all the potholes and offroading ventures, should you get out of alignment, it can cause these tires to get noisy. Right now, I can barely hear the tread inside the car at highway speeds, but even that sounds like wind noise.
 
Looks good, but now you seriously need a spacer lift! Look that how dropped your nose looks with the 70-series tires!!

Yea, I was looking into the Daystar front spacer, but the nose would have been high. I was going with Donahoes, but with gas getting more expensive, I think I'll end up with a cornfed spacer leveling kit.
 
I never put the Nitto's on, I'm going to go with a set of these BFG's later on when I decide to get new tires.
 
I started with Tirerack to get a top price, then called Sears, NTB, CostCo, and Sullivan Tire. The manager at NTB told me they would meet any price I got in writing. Overall Sullivan tire was the cheapest with mounting and balancing. Took the quote to NTB and they matched the deal. $165 per tire plus 10 for mounting/balancing/disposal for a grand total of $700. A little more than I really wanted to spend, but NTB backs up their tires and mounting and they were really good dealing with the TPMS.
 
Thats a big help, thanks a lot I really appreciate the feedback. How do the tires perform in the snow and slush?
 
Since I have had these on, I've been through everything. It's like night and day compared to the stock tires. These things grip very well on nearly every surface (even on the black ice today covering the roads, they did better than stock). Last week we had 6 inches of snow and I went through it like there was nothing on the road. So far, I love these tires, but I only have about 700 miles on them.
 
I had a new set on my 87 runner, but I sold it before the bad weather. I am very dis-pleased with the OEM Dunlops. I run Kumho Ecsta STX's in the summer and they're great. I want a good tire for winter and offroad use. I think I'll go with a set of the BFG's. Thanks for the feedback!
 
Why did they use soo many separate weights on the wheel to balance? 4pcs? sheesh, not only do i despise the use of clip weights they used a crapload....what noobs, they make those clip weights in like 20 diff sizes/weight, why use 4?

I use adhesive weights instead on my wheels. :D
 
This season in CA is a bust, so maybe if we get snow next season i'll upgrade. No point in putting on the BFG's now, with only 3,800 miles on the dunlops, and only city/highway driving.

Doubt there will be much snow on the roads in the local mountains this season.

Are you still going to do the CF leveling kit or wait on it .
 
I'm going to get it, no doubt about it. I'm just waiting a little longer just in case anything covered by warranty busts. Since it's only a few months old, just want to make sure everything will keep working great. I may do the lift and tires at the same time, which will get rid of the rubbing factor.
