I changed my Dunflops over after almost 3 years. The 4WD system on the 4Runner can compensate for most road conditions and you get more of your money's worth out of those tires. I had around 31k on these tires and if it wasn't as icy up here in the winter, I would have probably gone another year.
 
Thanks, that's encouraging information since I plan on keeping them until at least next winter. Somehow I think you guys may have a harsher winter than we do in southern CA.:biggrin2:

I've never had a rub with my 265/70/17 Revos.
 
Yeah but from all of the research I have done on this forum about hat size tire, it seems that it goes about 50% get rubbing, and 50% don't get any at all. Maybe some of the people who don't get rubbing just never need to turn the wheels to their max, i'm not sure. But if i'm waiting until next season to buy the tires, I may just put the lift on at the same time, just for the hell of it.
 
Yeah I think so too. Just too paranoid that something will go wrong if I do it now, and then it may not be covered by warranty.
 
Depends on what your definition of "current " is. I believe all 4th gen sport editions have it. If not, then for at least the last few years.

Yeah i meant does XREAS come on all 03-08 standard on Sport Editions.
 
Yes, since 03-08 are 4th gens. I've never heard of a 4th gen Sport Edition without it.

It makes it a pain in the ass to put lift kits on Sport Editions, because the rear takes 3 times longer than the front, due to the Xreas. And some shops can ruin your ride because they don't know anything about disconnecting it properly.
 
I thought it was an option, my bad. Anyway I know what you mean about it though. It makes for a nice ride, but not a system that's user friendly for repairs or mods. I'm also concerned about replacement if and when a shock or strut fails?
 
Na thanks, I'll buy a factory service manual and do it my self. I'm not very trusting to let others work on my vehicles. I have a friend that works at a toyota dealer and he lets me change out warranty parts myself because I'm so fussy.
 
How would that work? He would have to see it first. The dealer has to pay for it themselves if it's not damaged enough by the corporations standards, so dealerships are VERY anal about that stuff. That's why they are hard to deal with when something under warranty needs to be replaced.
 
I make an appointment and bring it in to get looked at. The technician varifies the complaint and orders the parts. My friend brings me the parts, I change them out and give him the old ones for warranty credit.
