New Sport "bar" Roof rack on a 2004?

I have a 2004 Sport Edition in black and it cam with a silver roof rack. I hate the look of this an I am wondering if I can put a newer "bar" version sport rack on the roof in place of what I have now. Will it work?

Also, Where can I find one? If I can't, I guess I am just going to have to paint this one to match my black 4runner.

You could try a junkyard or the dealer of course. But, I'm not sure if it will even fit if you do. The problem is what kind of holes the old rack will leave and how they get covered. If you got it the dealer, you will pay in the $700 range. You could install a Pemanent Yakima Rail system and have a nice setup from them, but I would guess you will be best off just painting the one you have. Good luck!

Not worth the hassles and $$ in my opinion. Check out the weather network for 2 nice days, then prep and paint your existing roof rack! Maybe 3 nice days to clearcoat twice as well.
