Did you buy a 4Runner because it was fast or because it was reliable?
Because this won’t make it either. Not saying they don’t make quality stuff but you will be looking at snake oil level power gains if any at the potential trade off of reliability.

I am willing to give the Ripp guys the benefit of the doubt on this product, in so far as these MAY be a better quality, and or provide a higher power or longer duration spark kernel to fire off the fuel mixture. MSD has been doing this for decades. Since they specialize in supercharged engines, which, like turbo engines are hell on plugs (including double iridium) and coils. Perhaps this is their way of trying to solve that issue...?
That said, the only way this works is to provide better (read more complete) combustion of the existing air fuel mix in the cylinder. The question is...just how bad are the coils and spark plugs on YOUR vehicle ? It WILL NOT modify either air fuel mixture, or ignition timing.
ANY new coil, including a stock replacement will do better than a worn out one. Same goes for the spark plugs. Replace both on a 50-60K old engine and be amazed at the difference in feel.
Notice the vehicle they used in the video...he didnt give us the mileage ,only the year...? Also' they provided none of the ambient temperature, engine temperature etc. parameters to show/ensure consistency of the dyno runs as far as that is possible.
Snake oil, probably not. Will it do for EVERY vehicle what they showed in the video, No. Worth $325.00 for whatever you are going to get... OH HELL NO!
That 4Runner has 17900 miles at the dyno,was nothing wrong with OEM coils and some how it drives and sounds better. Oil snake of gains, but how much you want for $280. Really?

"High performance" coil packs are a gimmick now. They will do nothing except cost more and fail sooner than OEM.

Why does it sound different? AC on in one run and not in another (explains the sound)? Did the ECM have time to relearn trims, or are they running open and not closed loop? What was the status of the coolant temperature (transmission and engine... thermostat open/closed)? There are many other variables. I'd be curious to know why they took so many runs both pre and post mod. Pre was most likely a good number for figuring out which gear to run in, but why the jump from 7 to 11? Give me three consecutive runs pre and post, not your possibly worst single pre run and best single post run.

Chassis dyno or butt dyno? One is highly inaccurate.
Exactly...too many unanswered questions and lack of data on the dyno results posted...

Guys. Honestly I dropped my car stock and picked up with coils installed. When drove it filled like more alive off the line at low Rpm. Sounds of the motor was like you just filled up with 93 gas after 87 , more smoothly. Will see what happens. Just one way to find out, I’ll give it a try. Thanks guys

No misleading. That 4Runner on Video is my car. They installed coils for me to see how it perform on dyno before and after. The reason I brought it up for you guys, was hoping to hear some real life experience with performance coils. Maybe with the other vehicle’s or other vendors, and for those who might be interested to get some more power for their 4Runners before they trade in for Raptors.But what I see is only guessing or personal opinion, no real life experience. Anyway, glad to see some of you guys have a really good knowledge of Toyota engine’s, cheers everybody!!!

In the "old days" a fresh set of plugs and setting the point gap made a difference.
The dyno said 2019 4runner and it looks like it was on same day from the screen.
But your right, feed it some cool dense air or a change in pressure will change your dyno output, not by 18 HP though, at least on a 4runner. But it is possible there was some other tuning. The only way to find out is when someone tests it themselves.
They sell superchargers for $5K. Which means they want to be known as a quality name. So I doubt that they would have anything to gain from putting up BS videos.
Just please for the love of God <mark>stay away from crap like this</mark>. V still = IR, I'm just saying. :mad2:
