alright soo...

im pretty sure im gunna do that suspension spacer lift.. i dont want to spend to much money.. i mean i love the 4runner... but i have another baby to throw money on... the 4runner was my first car.. as soon as i got it i through in a system and i got an intake... and i think thats it .. i could be forgetting something

oh.. and flip up.. and no emblems.. and i think thats it now..

soo

i had a jeep also.. and my dad got rid of it while i was at school this year... i would go offroading a good amount of time.. not as much as i would of liked to while i had it.. now i miss it.. and honestly i beat the shit out of the 4runner.. soo i want to make it more of a offroading 4runner but not spend to much money.. my bestfreind has sick trails and we used to rip the jeep back their.. and now it will be the 4runner... i have all terrains.. and thats about it.. honestly.. are 4runners that good at offroading?... i never really go in 4wd.. is the stock suspension pretty nice offroad?

and im gunna rip off the step up into the car.. or just wait to it gets rocked offroad.. then rip it off

and i got rid of those cheap blue fog lights.. now im gunna get some more legit ones..

i have the 4runner at school now cause my R32 cant make it over any speedbumps.. slash it cant really even live on these roads since its about an inch from ground to oilpan...

oh.. and is the spacer a ***** to install???? i installed coilovers on my r32 and it wasnt to bad.. just wondering what most people think of the spacer install.. easy? hard?

Yank the boards off and sell them since you still should get $100 for 'em and that's more mod money.

I can't even get $49 for mine and they are in near new condition...

I got 197.50 for mine. All depends on who is looking for them when you are selling yours. Are you trying to sell them on this board or another yota forum? Because, our first recommendation to newcomers is always to ditch the boards so there aren't gonna be a lot of people on here looking for them. Ebay them *****es.

No I figured that would be a waste of time, most people who post here take them off.

If I do, it will be a "local pickup only" auction, these things would be PIA to pack and ship, and not worth the cost probably. And I live in a very small town, so I am not optimistic about that route. Currently got them on craigslist.

I think part of the reason they are not selling is because the economy is going down the toilet and "consumer confidence" is dropping like a rock...

good idea...

i love ebay

but anyway.. whats the lug patterns? and where can i get spacers.. im pretty possible im gunna buy that daystar spacer kit shit.. and do the traction control mod .. and yea.. but i want spacers.. like 1.5inch.. who has spacers that can show me pictures? and would my tire size on the car now look goofy with a lift and spacers.. i figure the spacer would help make them look better

Yeah shipping would be a pain. I shipped mine, but I also had inside connections at the local Toyota dealership and was able to get ahold of a factory running board box, and only had to pay shipping based on weight, not package size.

To the OP, A good idea for spacers is to go through Spidertrax or Webfab. Both are great companies with an excellent product. Wheel spacers is a pretty heated discussion sometimes as they are theoretically bad on the wheel bearings, and some say unsafe (although I have never seen or heard of these claims being supported.) I have Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers and have had them on for about 1 year now with absolutely no problems. I'll get a pic up when I get off work.

thanks.. id love to see what they look like... i run 20mm spacers on my r32.. i guess it is known to make the handling a little worse but nothing that is noticible.. i just dont run spacers when im on the track....

and where did u get your spacers? with extended bolts as well

I installed the Daystars on my Runner earlier this year.

I posted a DIY with pics...(sorry, can't remember the thread name, but you can search for it)...If you follow my write up, it'll only take you 1 - 2 hours to install.

Aloha!

Daystar install shouldn't be too difficult, just gonna need a couple of spring compressors (like the kind you rent from autozone or advanced auto). And yes, you will need a couple.

The spacers that I have, and the only ones you should run mount directly to the wheel studs, and then have their own wheel studs on the spacers (much like if you were to get a 5-lug to 6-lug adapter).

As for the spacer pictures, I do have the newer Tacoma wheels but this should at least give you an idea of how it'll affect the look of your runner...

Before spacers..

After... (a few other goodies added on too)

Mine are Spidertrax. The site is www.spidertrax.com. They are $100/set of 2 so you would be looking at about $200 total for all 4. Also, check ebay for blemished Spidertrax spacers. I got mine from ebay for a little over half the regular price just because they had a few scratches on them.

edit: And the Spidertrax spacers come with nuts to attach them to your existing wheel studs, then you still use your factory lug nuts for the to hold the wheel on the spacer. They come with everything you will need, instruction, and some locktite.

did the traction control mod today.. worked out pretty well.. easy mod.. went offroading too and it was fun.. gotta go back up to school tomorrow tho.. maybe a picture tomorrow with some mud on my car haha..

and the stepping board things.. looked like a ***** to take off
