New suspension on TE squeaks

I recently had a lift, wheels, and tires put on my 2014 TE, I noticed later the day of that there's quite a bit of squeaking- as in constantly, over any surface- coming from the vehicle (enough to make it hard to tell where specifically it's coming from, but I think the front). I rolled back up to the dealership the next day, told them that it sounds like a rusty door hinge and the mechanic said the system will usually squeak at first as everything breaks in/settles but that they do a 1,000 mile "re-torquing" for free, and that I could bring the vehicle back around 500-800 miles if I wanted it done a little earlier. They were busy that day I went in and assured me it was ok to drive, didn't sound like any critical issue. The sound is only getting worse, if not staying exactly the same, and I'm getting antsy over having this tune-up done.

I know that with more travel, more play, etc. the amount of sound that can come from the system is going to increase- I get that, I wouldn't be posting this if it were just a little bit of squeaking over large bumps or things of that nature. Does it seem accurate that a little bit of re-torquing could really fix what is quite frankly a painful/annoying/embarrassing amount of noise coming from the vehicle?

I think I found your problem.... but more than likely its Gremlins.

It may need to settle but we need more info. Size rims, size rubber, lift brand, lift height, any upper control arms? Did you get an alignment?


Is it constant? It could be rubbing. Turn your tires out and check for rubbing. On the insides of the tires and inside the fenders.

EDIT: did a Toyota dealership do the install? Did a random dealership do the install? Did a private off road shop do it? I have icons waiting to go into mine and I cringe at the thought of getting a dealership to do it :/

Based on limited information I have from skimming your post I would ask you to check three things. Let me say I am assuming this suspension is Icon, Toytec, or some adjustable coilover. If you installed Old Man Emu then none of the following would apply.

1) Did they install the sway bar relocation brackets? These brackets move the sway bar forward on the truck and keep the sway bar from rubbing the bottom of the coilovers.

2) Did they install the bottom coilover bushings correctly such that they push the bottom mount post towards the rear of the truck. Otherwise, the coilover bottom will hit the sway bar.

3) Did they install the radiator bracket shims? There are 6 shims that come with the sway bar relocation brackets and are not mentioned in the instructions. These shims move the radiator brackets away from the sway bar once the relocation brackets are installed. This part is all hidden under the front skid plate. Most installers just see 6 extra washers and don't know where they go or what they do.

Ironman Foam Core Pro suspension (3/2''), Method NV 18" wheels w/ negative offset, Goodyear Wrangler 275s. It was done by a Toyota dealership, they did do the alignment and I have a copy of the before/after values of all the alignment specs

It should not squeak. Ironman and OME are similar. The thing to check these setups is the position they installed the spring. OME uses the stock Top Hat and place the spring in the seats. Did they install the rubber bushings properly between the springs and the seats? Did they properly align the outer shock boot so it slides over the shock body and not rubbing against it? Did you install heavies and have move than 3"s of lift?

I didn't go with the heavy springs, would you be able to tell how the spring was seated, etc. if I posted a picture of it?
