New T4R TRD OFP Owner Looking For Suspension Guidance

Step 1. Where do you park it at night? Do you have fitment issues in a garage etc?

Step 2. With suspension I suggest you buy the best you can afford. Keep in mind the better it gets, it often then involves more maintenance etc.

Understand trade offs. Somethings will make it better for certain conditions and terrain only.

I love threads like this because we get to see what people have and get reviews from different brands without going to a brand specific thread to read about it. Like I said I narrowed it down between the Eibach kit and this one

I know the last one comes with reservoirs but that is a option on the 1st link for 200 bucks so the 1st one with the same ones as the 3rd link are cheaper with the same parts.

Really depends on the shop you go to. I've seen ranges from $450-600. I personally paid $550 to have the struts assembled, get shocks/struts installed, and alignment done.

If you are mechanically inclined and have some decent tools then it's a job that can be done at home. I did my complete lift in my garage in 3.5 hours, taking my time. Now I do have a well stocked tool box along with air tools. If you have to pay someone then I you'll probably be in a $500-600 range.

The Eibach suspension sure looks tempting. I’m wondering how the off-road capabilities is. Again, I’ll be doing some easy to moderate trails, little to no rock crawling or muddling (I will splash around though), some snow and I’ll be keeping the stock tire size (265/70/17).

You want the OEM King coilover. Basically its options you can add. Get the base coilovers, for the rears if you dont want a huge lift get just king shocks as part of the coilover kit. I suggest getting compression adjusters for the shocks. Its up to you though and some will say you dont need them.

All the other stuff like finned reservoirs, anodized stuff and other things are optional add ons. For the UCA I believe you only need them from 2 inch lift and above. If you lift this high you may need to swap rear springs..maybe

For the king coilver spring rate choices up front are 550, 600, 650 and 700 with some customs after that.

For stock vehicle I would suggest 550. If you have heavy metal such as winch, armour, metal bumpers etc, You may want to increase to 600-650 range. Contact King for specifics they are very helpful to deal with.

I have been deciding about suspension for two years. Icon and Fox both seem to have lower reviews than KING. There are also other manufactures out there. Lastly some just go the basic shock and spring route which can be far cheaper but lacks any adjust-ability.
