Only a few...Whether they are made in the same plant is yet another story...It is common for the same plant to be contracted to make the same product for different vendors. The companies you want to buy from are ones that own their plant(s), therefore, theoretically, quality control is higher as there is not a middle-man involved. Michelin, for instance, owns and runs all plants that make their tires, from materials (unfinished) to R&D to retread to building, mostly in South Carolina (for North America). Some off-brands may come from the same facility that makes another type of tire BUT that does not mean the same components are used (can happen) and the tire pattern cannot be the same. It's sort of like the situation in which the same plant that made shirts for Old Navy made them for the Gap and Banana Republic - same plant but different quality and craftsmanship of materials.

Well said ......... Although I have had better luck with many of the so called off name tires then the major brand rubber and saved a few $$$ as well.

A friend of mine works at a quarry. He has some tires from Crappy Tires and claims they are the best tires he has ever had on any truck. I cant remmeber the name (they were some no name) but says,they were the best bang for the buck.

Well, my wife also educated me recently about Banana Republic shirts in Malls vs. in Outlet stores. The BR shirts in Outlet stores have a star beneath the name...while a similar shirt from the Mall does not. My wife states that you can actually feel a difference between the two...the one at the mall feels richer. Getting married has been such an eye-opener for me!

yeah, they did that with GAP Pocket-T's. The outlet ones have/had "GAP OUTLET" on their label and the quality just sucks. I'd rather pay a little more and get the regular GAP store Pocket-T's.
