Welcome!

Maybe no lift would be required. It's that close to fitting as is. A 1"-2" lift on the front will ensure cool looks and a good fit. The 255's without wheelspacers will fit well and look good. Because they are not super wide there's minimal trimming (if any) required to clear when the wheel is cut and the suspension moves.

Cool... The tires will fit easier without wheelspacers. When you look into lifts you're looking for 1-2" of net lift. The way the geometry of the suspension works if you add a 1/2" spacer that'll yield about 1" of lift. If you use a spacer that measures 1" it'll yield about 2" of lift.

There's many manufacturers of the lifts. The advertising literature varies a little bit; some advertise the spacer thickness others advertise the net lift.

one more thing... will the fact that the 255 size tire is 10mm narrower than the original compromise the use of my current rims?

No. Your stock rims will be fine.
