New Tires and a Roadtrip

Well I finally got a job as an EMT for one of the major ambulance companies in San Diego so I decided it was time to get some new tires to congratulate myself. I ordered 4 Kumho Road Venture ATs KL78 in the E load range size 265/75/16. UPS ended up losing one of my tires all together so I had to wait another week and a half for DTD to send me a new one. Anyway, I got them on on Wednesday and decided to take my Mom and my girlfriend on a road trip up into the mountains of eastern San Diego County via the Sunrise Highway. I will give my first impressions the tires after the pics of the trip.

The 2 best things in life

Can't really see it, but this guy had a rifle on his back....caught me off guard.

It was an awesome day. The tires are great! I can't tell you much about their off road capabilities, nor obviously the treadlife, but for $128 bucks a piece I couldn't be happier. These tires have great road manners. My truck feels so much more stable and my steering wheel no longer jerks around over the slightest bumps. Also, my truck no longer shakes at speeds above 70mph which is nice. They are quieter than I thought they would be considering the large tread gaps. I haven't notice any drop in gas mileage, as we drove 150 miles yesterday and i'm at exactly half tank, which is normal. I will post another review as I wear these tires in, but so far they are great and I can't wait to hit the trails with them. Thanks for looking!

Haha yea bike tires. There was a whole club of them up there for a Halloween party. I'm surprised those things made it up the mountain.

Did you get some apple pies in Julian? I was up at Ramona for a couple of months.

I almost bought the Kumho's, but got BFG's due to the snow rating. I'm contemplating Kumho MT's on a second set of rims.
