New Tires, do I need aftermarket UCA's?

Ordering new tires today. Want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.

Ordering Nitto Trail Grapplers 295/70-r17 putting them on sequoia split 5 stars.

I was planning on running my spidertracks 1.25" spacers. I have stock UCA's that I ground down a bit and re-welded.

3.5" toytec lift and 1.5" BL.

I installed an ODL bumper recently and I think I have plenty of turning clearance up front.

Do I need aftermarket UCA's?

really nothing? Basically, does anyone know if I need UCA's to keep from rubbing with a 34.2 tire.

Between the fact that you have wheel spacers and shave control arms I highly doubt you would need different control arms. Most people do one or the other and you have done both so you should be fine.

you may not need them for clearance,but you may want them to help with your alignment as your 3.5 in the front.

I have a true 12.5" wide Nitto MG's and without changing my stock UCA's, plus the addition of the 1.25" Spidertrax, I really didn't need to opt for the Camburgs.

What's the effective backspacing of the Sequoia rims plus the wheel spacers your putting on? Mine came out to an even 4.0" and still plenty of room between the UCA and the inside face of the tire.

don't know, ill put a tape on it tonight and report back what the true BS is. Are the Sequoia rims like the taco rims, .5" less backspacing than the 4runner rims?

According to the blogs Ive seen they vary from 5-5.5" of backspacing.

LINY4runner has those Sequoia rims and Spidertrax installed and although he has or had 285's on, he didn't have any tire rubbing issues with the UCA's.

Can't imagine the 295's being that big of a diff'rence.. just saying. But best to check the backspace yourself to be sure.

You will be fine. The Tundra/Sequoia rims have 4.75 bs I think so, you will be sitting at around 3.5" after adding spacers. You should be clearing the UCA by a good amount.

when you plug in the 35 vs the 295 here
315/70/r17 vs 295/70r17 the 295s are bigger than the 285/70.17
Right at 1" smaller than the 35, this is why i worry.

Here's a shot of my 315 on a 1.25" spacer. I have atleast a good 3/4-1" gap from the stock UCA.....and this is at full droop.

My wheels backspace is 4.5 and with the 1.25" spacer, it effectively becomes 3.25. Worse case if the Sequoia wheel measures 5" in backspace, then with the spacer your planning on putting on, you would still have atleast 1/4" of gap from th UCA..worse case.

Well put... You've done more than enough to make up for clearance. Shouldn't be any problem.

put a tape on it this morning, looks like 5''. Tires will be on order today hopefully, in next week. This 295 is an odd size, but Ive always been a big fan of plenty of wheel well for the tire, I understand the guys running 3.5" and 35's, but I just like the look of a touch smaller tire.

Going to boone, NC over the holidays, cant wait to crawl through the snow on the blue ridge parkway. Finally Ill have some rubber on here with tread worthy of poser shots! I rode my pie cutters just past the wear bars, Finally!
