New Tires for the '07 SE 4WD V8

So I did a lot of research about tires and wanted some that are more aggressive looking but still ride pretty nice on the highway since that is where I do most of my driving.

I went with the BF Goodrich All-Terrain's. Stock size: 265/65/17. Kept the original wheels on there.

Lookin good! I think you'll like the BFG ATs, I do a good bit of highway driving on mine and I love em so far (had em about 2 1/2 weeks) You need to clean the blue off the whites!

Looks good, I had the BFGs installed 2 weeks ago as well but upsized to 70 series. Absolutely love them. Awesome look but almost as quiet as the old Cross Terrains and negligeable difference in fuel mileage.

I have been on them for about a week now and I love them. Negligible difference in road noise and gas mileage. Smooth with aggressive look, which is exactly what I wanted. Very pleased.

And you'd be happy to know that the blue has since been removed.

Looks really good. Did they balance out ok. You dont feel any vibrations or anything do you when your goin like 60mph.

love the tires.....thats what i will be replacing my at20s with. some westleys bleach white will get rid of that blue on the white letters

No vibrations. Definitely smooth ride. Aggressive look. Minimal road noise. They balanced out great. I was advised I have to rotate them a lot sooner (every 3k miles), but that's no big deal since I enjoy doing it. The blue letters are now white and they look much much better.

do you have lift? if no, do the 70's rub? i need tires now and want a small lift later and was wondering if 70's would fit my rig till i can get a level kit.

I too would love to know if the 70's rub. Incline, full turn, etc? I have an 07 Sport V8 and am also looking for tires. Will likely still do a front leveling kit to get rid of the sag but your experience will certainly help mold my decision.

I guess it's just me but I would have turned the white lettering inside. White lettering looks 1970's to me. When I had my SE the white lettering got turned inside PDQ.

Mine are 265/65/17 which is the OEM tire size. So mine don't rub at all. I am thinking about doing a leveling kit or I actually read somewhere that I could just swap out the front coils with the FJ cruiser coils and then that'll effectively lift the front two inches. Anyone know if that is a good idea?

About the lettering, I forgot to tell them to put the white letters inside. It's no big deal to me so I might just keep it. Will I hurt anything if I decide to flip them inside? I mean as far as tire wear goes and whatnot.

To answer the above two questions, yes, the 70's do rub. Only at full lock and it seems to be barely touching the wheel well lining.

I'm installing the bilstein adjustables at the 1.35" setting. Should level it out nicely. Airbags for the back to prevent sag with larger loads.

The 70s give the 4R a great stance.

Your 65s look great. How's the ride with the load E?

Surprisingly quiet and smooth. With that aggressive tread I expected it to be much louder and more rough of a ride but I was pleasantly surprised.

I have the OE Dumbflop GrandCrap and can't wait to get then replaced, although now that I'm in the south I don't have the issues with them that I had in the Chicago burbs. Glad you made a choice that you're satisfied with!
