hi I bout my 4runner when it was 11 months old and it has been very dependable. It now has 120000 miles on original almost everything.brakes belts wp you get the idea. I do change my oil religiously. Anyway I have read some of the information about these suvs and have planned to do a bunch of work to one, have it last a lot longer and two make it ready for my son to start driving next year. One might want to bash but I have a few toys that take a lot of my time. I wrench my own cars and have owned toyotas for years. I have a few questions where do forum members buy their parts? Are there part brands to stay away from?

thanks for the welcomes. yes it is a 4x4 I plow snow in the winter. I have run through the weeds/ fields I have only got stuck once and that was in a snow drift. In the summer I like to drive one of the convertibles.

I have another question I looked at a how too on how to change tb. why is the torqu 214lbs for the cam bolt. I don't have a torq wrench that even goes that high. I am not sure I can even get it loose. What do people do to keep the engine from turning. I have a flywheel lock I use for the Porsche. Thanks
