4Runner Suspension Lift Kit

as far as a diff drop I would just to be safe but I have read posts of people not installing the diff drop and they seem ok.

REGARDS,

How do you make a signature looser? O I think you meant lose, english my friend, is the key, learn it. Its not a signature, so I cannot lose it, sorry. Yes, I have read it all but as you can see above there's a lot of conflicting info in those threads.

On a side note, to all those people who get so mad when people ask questions for clarification on something, you realize that without me this forum would die? It would no longer be here for you to get angry on. It would die because that would mean that no new people would be coming in here. Is that how you answer your friends when they ask you something that they could easily google? If so, I am sure that they feel the same way I do about you. Obviously I had to search something to even know what top spacers are or that a differential drop may even be necessary. Duh.

There is no need for this kind of signature...absolutely uselss!

Those threads have everything you need. Search my friend, is the key, learn it!

REGARDS,

To bad I am on the other side of the country :(

I always wondered why Halifax had the highest unemployment in all of Virginia. I think it is obvious now, but I guess they do have an outstanding English program.

Actually, what irritates people is the lack of desire to do any research.
I would find it dangerous to just have someone spoon feed you the answer, as there are many different ways to do something.

People that want the easy are usually the ones that come back, 1 week later, pissed that their CV joint was busted. Only, if that had done the research, they would know that anytime you alter the angle of the CV joints you run the risk of a boot rip or worse.

Most of us that wheel, know this, and take it as an acceptable risk. But, you get those snot nosed brats who happen to get 100 bucks from their mom who yell when something breaks. Usually because now they have to run back to mommy for more money to get it fixed.

This forum, like the internet, is an amazing resource. Only you, however, can determine just how helpful it is. Ask questions, sure, but read.. read, read read. Then, read some more... google and learn. That way, when something breaks, you won't be caught off guard or come yelling here where we have to explain... again, that it happens.

If theres conflicting info in those threads, creating a new one will also result in conflicting info! duhhhhhhhhhhhh!

And the reason why people say search is cause it reduces the amount of cluttered threads and reposting of the same information. Just SEARCH, find all information that applies to what you want to do and read it ALL. Once you read dozens if not hundreds of posts regarding similar requests, you'll be able to make a educated guess as to what you need to do for yourself.

I read every single one of the posts in the Suspension Options/FAQ thread, even those that didn't apply to what I was doing. On top of dozens more threads just to get a good idea on what I needed to do. So stop being lazy, and go SEARCH.

Your reading comprehension skills need some work. All of the questions you have asked are answered in multiple posts here almost weekly. If you're not smart enough to find the information, read it, and learn it, then you certainly shouldn't be working on your vehicle.

If you want to be spoon-fed some answers, here you go, enjoy:

Yes, buy a diff. drop. Give Toytec your money for something you don't need because you were too stupid to search.

top out spacers?

Sure, why not. Give Toytec more of your money. Order 10 of them.

Anything else?

Yes, you also need a continuum transfunctioner.

Whats the install time like?

2 weeks. Better use some of that vacation time at work and just get it done.

Could it be done diy?

Yes, but don't put the continuum transfunctioner in backwards, or you will rip a hole in the fabric of space-time.

Actually not a spoon fed baby, more of a 28 year old 4th grade teacher.

Halifax has a high unemployment rate because of factories closing their doors and no one else coming into open them back up.

Ive been reading and asking others who know more than I about these very questions. One post may say one thing, but the next says otherwise.

However, its ok. I refuse to listen to people who cannot posses the decency to help someone who is new to this game. I hope you feel better about yourselves because you were an ass to someone today.:thanks:

You're asking like people know such specific information off the top of their heads. Most of us would have to search ourselves to give you an answer, so why not you search yourself?

If you do rip a hole in the space-time continuum, make sure your car has the TRD Flux Capacitor option added or else you're screwed.

Most don't use the diff drop because of the slight negative CV angle at stock height, while others use it just in case. Most will tell you to save your money

top out spacers?
You may want to get the trim packer for the driver's side lean if you go with the OME suspension, but otherwise you shouldn't need one.

Anything else?
Eventually you'll probably want to get new rear sway bar endlinks as it takes some stress off the rear sway bar when lifted and (for me at least) makes the rear end travel a little more freely because the sway bar isn't in a bind. You can get them from WabFab (where I got mine) or Medic83 on toyota120.com. You may also need new upper control arms if the alignment shops have trouble getting the front end straight after the lift. Depending on tire size there may be a few more things to consider.

The install time depends on a lot of factors, but I think it would be fair to say 4-8 hours depending on those factors. DIY or not depends on how comfortable you are; when I got my 4R I had never installed a suspension lift, now I have installed 6 or 7 for myself and others. I learned this by reading the writeups here and on toyota120.com, one of the most helpful writeups was Ark_Swamp_Rider's writeup (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/63618-finally-done-lift-tires.html) that featured a few very helpful writeup links.

You're welcome, welcome to the forum! Most of us are nice but a lot of guys get fed up with the same question being asked repeatedly and this is a common one. Apparently a lot of these people have never been "newbs" to a forum, working on their vehicles, or any other thing for that matter.

Sincerely,

Motha Frucker Jones.
I thought your name was Sandy, Sandy Tires. This is very confusing.

Wow, a little hostile aren't we!
Is this how you talk to your students?

By the way, I'm not sure how this forum would die without you.

I think he might have been making a Horrible Bosses reference with the "Mother Frucker Jones" thing...I could be wrong though...

Thank you for being a civil human being.

And to the guy who said the forum would be fine without me, I am sure it would. But no self respecting newb is going to want to stay.
