When I bought mine I went crazy with the maintenance since you can't be too sure how it was maintained before you. I would suggest changing fluids in the diffs and transfer case, fix everything broken (lights, switches), spark plugs, oil, get ready for timing belt change, bleed brakes, etc. It is always nice to have all of that out of the way so you can start on a clean slate for mods >. All of those things can be done at home for relatively low cost.
