This site is so damn confusing! It might take me a while to adjust. I'm just looking for folks around here that are interested in wheeling, meeting up or whatever. Never really done any hard core wheeling just trail and big mud puddles lol... yeaaa yeaaa call it what you want but its fun!

Thank you for the info!! I was starting to wonder why no one was responding... I live in North Portland near downtown. I attend Portland State University also.

I installed an OME lift kit and got new mud tires so I'm looking to test it out and have some fun with rain and snow!

Oh nice! what was her major? I'm a CCJ major (future bacon patrol) and I'm graduating this coming mid december!...

Do you think my 3.slow will be able to keep up with what you guys do or go when wheeling? I'm new to wheeling and last thing I want to do is break down in the middle of nowhere if you guys go hardcore wheeling!

I feel like such a B!@#$ right now for asking!.. lol... I think I need a :hug:

Don't worry about asking, we were all there once. As long as you maintain it, the 3.0 is a great place to start (my first runner was a 3.0). What kind of tires are you currently running? That makes a big difference. My first suggestion is to get a tool set to always carry with you. You never know when you need it (usually on friends rigs).

I just purchased some new tires (hercules MT 33/12.5/15). I love the width and big knobby tread. I couldnt afford the toyo mt, les schwab wanted roughly 1700 dollars! :Cry:

:crybaby: YES they do!! It's not that bad but it still drives me crazy at full turn. I like the wide tires and the aggressive look... I was running 31x10.5 AT for a decade straight and I needed a drastic change. I kept my tundra practical and figured I can go crazy on my 4runner. I guess a 2 inch body lift is in order now? Unless I try longer torsion bars and crank the front end and get a spacer for the rear coils.. Your thoughts?

If I was wheeling a bunch more I would have just gone with a sas kit...

My opinion: Stay away from body lifts. They put stress on places that shouldn't be stressed when going around corners and whatnot. I would just hammer the inner fenders a bit. If you want more lift, I'd look for a 4" bracket lift on craigslist. Something like a rough country or pro comp.

I used to have a good group of wheelin buddies I would go with in AZ and am now searching for that same kind of thing up here. I'm in Gresham and work in Portland. I have weekends off. Also, I like "family friendly" events as I enjoy taking the wife and kids with me to go hit up trails and such. Hope to hear from some of you...

Hey whats up. I am basically looking for the same a group of folks that like to go on mild adventures, nothing to crazy where I end up breaking my rig wheeling. I am new to this site also. Keep me posted when planning a trip or going on trails or whatever. Its only the wife and I and our dog. We took several trips to crater lake, bend, coast and so on in the summer. Anyways keep me posted.

I started a thread over in the general section as well. I also posted a link to the event on Facebook in the Northwest 4Runner group.

I was pretty involved in the east coast for meet and greets. I hope to become a good contributor here in the PNW also.

Welcome! Check out Bri and Bub off road. I am a member, and most the members live in the Gresham area. Great group of people to wheel with. Most have kids and whatnot so it's pretty laid back. We have a snow run/christmas tree run coming up if you are interested.

It's a local non-profit 4x4 group, not anything to do with this forum. Good group of people to wheel with though. There is a snow run coming up this saturday at Goat mountain outside of Estacada if you are interested. Anybody is welcome.
