Hey all, Jason from Indiana here. Happy to finally be a part of the 4Runner community. I am a former service advisor for a local Toyota dealer and fell in love with the 4th gen 4Runners from the start. After (too many) years of trepidation, I finally am in the process of purchasing my first. It's a 2005 SR5 with the V8. Other than the basics (timing belt, 4x4 operation, etc.) is there anything specific you seasoned veterans can tell me that I should be mindful of with my new ride? Looking forward to many great years with the beast and being a part of this awesome community!

Hey welcome. So since you were a service advisor for toyota would you mind me picking your brain about my brakes if changing my calipers again doesn't fix the issue.

LOL!!!! I figured it out yesterday but thanks. Apparently my last wheeling trip 2 weeks ago i blew my driver side hub so the only thing holding the tire on was the caliper bolts. So i wheeled for a day and a half (pretty hard wheeling at that) and drove 50 miles round trip for work for 2 weeks on that broken flopping hub. yesterday it got real bad on my way home so i jacked it up and the wheel was flopping around. Just a testiment to the strength of a yota. :lookout:
Amen to that! That's the main reason that after this purchase of the 4Runner, we are a Yota only household (and will likely stay that way).

Nice. Im not solely a Yota house hold. My wife and I both have 80's volvo 240's and i just got her a 93 bmw 325IS e36. so we have a few projects laying around lol
