New to the 4Runner Forum

I'm new to the forum, I've had my '98 4Runner SR5 for a year and a half now and I absolutely love it. I'm now looking to put some aftermarket stuff on it. Currently looking at a K&N CAI and either a JBA exhaust or a Borla Exhaust. I'm active duty Navy and will be transferring to Italy within the next 3 months so I'd like to put the stuff on before I leave to enjoy it for a little bit. Any advice for easy mods would be much appreciated. I've been looking around the forum and have gotten good advice thru the threads and hopefully will get some good things goin for my 4runner. thanks!!

Welcome to the forum. Any easy mod that replace the K&N CAI is the deckplate mod. I don't have a 3rd gen, but it is supposed to be really easy and cheap. It also has been dyno tested and produces some extra hp. Here is the link: Air Induction
You can also do the isr to increase air flow.

I've done a little bit of reading on the deckplate mod, not sure if I'm going to do it or not. My buddies I'm stationed with all have CAI's in their vehicles (none have a 4Runner), and I know that a CAI is a decent investment. Just looking around at some of this stuff, don't want to do too much right now as I'm due to leave the US in 3 months. I appreciate the help man.
