Well, hello all! I'm new to your Forum and just thought I'd introduce myself. Here are a couple of pics of my old '03 4Runner. I just traded it in on Saturday for an '05 4Runner Sport Edition V8 in Titanium Metallic. I don't have pics of the new one yet, but will post them soon.

Thanks! I did keep my rims for the new ride. Don't know how they will look on the Sport Edition, but if they don't look right....I'll put them on Ebay!!

.....and the reason for the change?

The ones that seem obvious to me are:

1. Sport = hoodscoop, better interior, & XREAS
2. new V8 = MORE POWER arr-argh-arr (trying to reference old school Tim Allen).
3. Better Color
4. Nice and perfect with fresh warranty and being able to force them to make your perfect settings.

BTW, IMO I don't think the rims will look any different on the Sport. Maybe the change of color will change it a bit, but I think that will only help.

Well, I believe all of your answers above were factors in trading except for #3. I love the Stratosphere Mica and always get compliments on the color, but it's just a pain in the butt to keep clean. My last three vehicles have been dark blue and I always keep them looking freshly waxed. I'm tired of the upkeep. So, I bought the Titanium because it hides the dust/dirt better.

The real reason is....I work at a Toyota dealership and get excellent trade-ins and along with the Toyota resale value, I could break even out of my lease a year early. I went up 2 model years, went up in trim level (From SR5 to Sport Edition) and still dropped my payment $6 a month in a new lease. Toyota is giving an incentivised lease on '05 4Runner's now that is KILLER. Just couldn't pass it up!

They are 275/45 R20. Be aware that you will loose about 30% of your ride quality and 20's seem hard to get balanced right. I had my wheels balanced at 4 different places before I found a place that could get them 90% balanced. The place that finally got them close to perfect had a road force balancer. They told me they spent 2 1/2 hours on them trying to get them perfect and that's as close as they could get them. They still seemed to have a small vibration from 70 to 80 mph. Good Luck!
