I been browsing this forum for awhile trying to gather info on the 4th gens, mainly v8 limited/sport version. I'm coming from owning and just sold my 08tt fj cruiser although ill miss it dearly but i needed a true 4door suv.

I searched as much info as i could on the v8 variants from 04-09 but im curious as to why in 08-09 v8 limited/sport versions are rated at 14/17 mpg and 07 and under are rated at 16/19? its the exact same engine is it not?

im looking into test driving one, 2006 limited this wk and hopefully i can get some info regarding mpg drop for the newer models...

Not sure why they are rated differently, but I just wanted to say "Welcome" and hope you enjoy it here. Can't go wrong with a 4th Gen, they are the best IMO :wink2:. When/if you find one, would love to see pics, I love the limited's, they're sweet!

i allways liked this body style.. im really hesitant about getting the 06 limited when i can get the 08 sport for the same price, but being that they are both same v8's and 08-09model mpg are rated lower, im leaning towards the 06.. i just cant justify a newer car with same v8 having less mpg =o .. i havent read anything different between 05+ v8 models as far as engine is concern .. hopefully some v8 enthusiast can help verify the difference between the yr sport/limited models as far as engine and drivetrain.. if not ill just stick with 06 limited
